WONDERFUL PLASTIC SURGERY
Precautions for Plastic Surgery & Skin Treatments
Post-Operative Guidelines for Forehead Reduction Surgery
Position
  1. For the first 2 days after surgery, we recommend sleeping flat on your back without using a pillow whenever possible.
  2. Sleeping with your upper body elevated may cause bruising and swelling to shift downward toward the eye area.
  3. Please avoid sleeping on your side or stomach.
Swelling
  1. Swelling and bruising are usually at their peak during the first 2–3 days after surgery. Therefore, consistent cold compresses are recommended. When using compresses, wrap them in a thin towel to prevent direct contact with the skin.
  2. Most major swelling subsides within 1–2 weeks, while mild residual swelling may last for approximately 1–3 months.
Recovery Progress
  1. After surgery, you may occasionally experience nausea.
  2. You may also feel temporary sensory changes such as tingling or dullness, but these symptoms gradually improve over several months.
  3. You may also feel temporary sensory changes such as tingling or dullness, but these symptoms gradually improve over several months.
  4. These symptoms usually improve significantly starting around 2 months after surgery.
Wound Care
  1. Please do not touch the bandage wrapped around the forehead until your follow-up visit at the clinic.
  2. If you experience pain, redness, swelling, or a burning sensation at the surgical site, please contact the clinic immediately and follow further instructions.
  3. Until 4 weeks after surgery, apply a thin layer of the prescribed ointment to the stitched area using a cotton swab.
  4. In some cases, blood may collect under the forehead area after surgery. This does not indicate a surgical problem and can be removed over 1–3 sessions if necessary.
Cleansing & Showering
  1. Hair washing is allowed starting 2–3 days after surgery. Please avoid getting water on the incision area as much as possible.
  2. If the surgical site becomes wet, dry it thoroughly with cool air from a hair dryer and we recommend disinfecting the area.
  3. Steam rooms and saunas are allowed starting after 4 weeks post-surgery.
Prescribed Medications
  1. Please take all medications prescribed by the clinic as instructed after surgery.
Skipping doses may increase the risk of inflammation.
  2. After discharge, please take the prescribed medications regularly at the designated times. If symptoms such as diarrhea or hives occur after taking the medication, discontinue use and contact the clinic immediately.
  3. Pain relievers are included in the prescription.
However, if you continue to experience significant pain, you may take additional Tylenol (acetaminophen).
  4. For 1 month after surgery, please avoid multivitamins (especially Vitamin E) and nutritional supplements, as they may increase the risk of bleeding.
  5. Unless absolutely necessary, aspirin should be avoided for at least one week after surgery.
  6. Swelling-reduction medications are not recommended, as they may also increase the risk of bleeding.
Exercise
  1. For 1 month after surgery, please avoid lifting heavy objects or bending down in a way that applies pressure to the face.
  2. Starting after 1 month, both light exercise and strenuous activities (such as workouts, hiking, or swimming) are allowed as long as they do not strain the body.
General Post-Operative Precautions
  1. Alcohol & Smoking
Alcohol consumption and smoking are strictly prohibited for one month after surgery.
Please also avoid excessive exercise and stress during the recovery period.
Alcohol may increase the risk of inflammation, and smoking constricts blood vessels, which can delay wound healing and slow recovery.
  2. Emergency Situations
If you experience any of the following symptoms, please contact the clinic or your assigned coordinator immediately and visit the hospital as soon as possible.
Contact the Clinic Immediately If: · You experience severe eye pain or changes in vision
    · Heavy bleeding continues
    · You develop a high fever over 38°C or severe dizziness
