WONDERFUL PLASTIC SURGERY
Precautions for Plastic Surgery & Skin Treatments
Post-Operative Guidelines for Fat Grafting Surgery
Swelling
  1. Swelling and bruising may gradually worsen during the first 3 days after surgery. After that, they will slowly improve over time depending on individual recovery.
  2. Cold or warm compresses are not recommended after fat grafting, as they may interfere with the stabilization of the fat cells.
  3. The donor area where fat was harvested may feel firm or lumpy for approximately 1–3 months, and the surface may appear uneven.
(This is a normal temporary symptom during the healing period, and it usually softens and resolves after 6 months or more.)
Recovery Progress & Retouch
  1. Applying pressure or massaging the treated area may significantly reduce fat survival and cause the grafted fat to shift. Please avoid this for approximately 4 weeks.
  2. It takes about 2–3 months for the fat cells to fully settle. During this period, the face may appear slightly swollen or uneven.
  3. If forehead fat grafting was performed, please avoid wearing hats that may press on the forehead for 1 month.
  4. Weight loss after surgery may reduce fat survival, so please avoid dieting during the period when the graft is stabilizing.
  5. A second fat grafting procedure is possible between 1 and a half months–3 months after the initial surgery.
  6. After fat grafting, the recovery progress is monitored over 1–3 months, and a second injection may be performed if necessary.
  7. Swelling and bruising after a second procedure are usually less severe than after the first, and recovery is generally faster.
  8. For secondary fat grafting, stored fat can be kept for up to 3 months.
Wound Care
  1. If stitches are present, facial stitches are removed after 2–3 days, and thigh stitches are removed after 7–10 days.
Cleansing & Showering
  1. Face washing, showering, and makeup are allowed starting 3 days after surgery. When cleansing, do not rub with pressure, as this may alter the shape of the grafted fat. Please cleanse gently and carefully.
  2. When showering, apply waterproof tape over the bandage on the stitched donor site to prevent water from entering the wound. After showering, remove the waterproof tape and replace it with a new bandage.
  3. After 3–4 days, you may shower carefully while avoiding the wound area. Once the area is completely dry, apply a fresh dressing bandage.
Prescribed Medications
  1. Please take all medications prescribed by the clinic as instructed after surgery.
Skipping doses may increase the risk of inflammation.
  2. After discharge, please take the prescribed medications regularly at the designated times. If symptoms such as diarrhea or hives occur after taking the medication, discontinue use and contact the clinic immediately.
  3. Pain relievers are included in the prescription.
However, if you continue to experience significant pain, you may take additional Tylenol (acetaminophen).
  4. For 1 month after surgery, please avoid multivitamins (especially Vitamin E) and nutritional supplements, as they may increase the risk of bleeding.
  5. Unless absolutely necessary, aspirin should be avoided for at least one week after surgery.
  6. Swelling-reduction medications are not recommended, as they may also increase the risk of bleeding.
Exercise
  1. Light exercise is allowed after 2 weeks, and strenuous activities (such as workouts, hiking, or swimming) are allowed starting after 1 month.
General Post-Operative Precautions
  1. Alcohol & Smoking
Alcohol consumption and smoking are strictly prohibited for one month after surgery.
Please also avoid excessive exercise and stress during the recovery period.
Alcohol may increase the risk of inflammation, and smoking constricts blood vessels, which can delay wound healing and slow recovery.
  2. Emergency Situations
If you experience any of the following symptoms, please contact the clinic or your assigned coordinator immediately and visit the hospital as soon as possible.
Contact the Clinic Immediately If: · You experience severe eye pain or changes in vision
    · Heavy bleeding continues
    · You develop a high fever over 38°C or severe dizziness
    · The surgical area becomes extremely swollen or shows changes in skin color
