WONDERFUL PLASTIC SURGERY
Precautions for Plastic Surgery & Skin Treatments
Post-Operative Guidelines for Body Lift Surgery
Position
  1. Until 2 weeks after surgery, please place a pillow under your knees to keep your waist and thighs at approximately a 150-degree angle.
Avoid fully straightening your waist to 180 degrees, as maintaining a slightly bent position helps with wound healing.
  2. Until 1 month after surgery, it is recommended to avoid sleeping on your side or stomach.
Swelling
  1. Most major swelling subsides within 1–2 weeks, while mild residual swelling may last for approximately 1–3 months.
  2. During the swelling reduction period, irregularities on the skin surface may rarely appear, but these gradually improve over time.
Recovery Progress
  1. Bruising, firmness, tingling, or dull sensation may occur in the surgical area. These symptoms are normal and will gradually disappear over time.
  2. Skin tightness, pulling sensations, numbness, and localized redness are part of the normal healing process.
  3. Swelling and numbness usually improve significantly after 1 month.
  4. Pulling sensations and redness gradually resolve over 3–6 months.
Wound Care
  1. Stitches are removed between 7–14 days after surgery.
(Depending on recovery progress, removal may take place over 2–3 days.)
  2. Scarring may be visible after stitch removal, but it will gradually improve over time. Scar ointment is recommended for proper management.
Cleansing & Showering
  1. Showering is allowed starting day 2–3 after surgery. Please apply a waterproof bandage before showering, and be sure to disinfect the stitched area afterward.
  2. Please change the bandage daily to keep the wound dry and prevent moisture buildup.
  3. Steam rooms and saunas are allowed starting after 4 weeks post-surgery.
Compression Garment
  1. You will be discharged wearing a compression garment on the day of surgery.
  2. It must be worn for at least 4 weeks, and the duration may vary depending on your individual condition.
  3. In addition to the compression garment, please avoid wearing tight clothing such as belts, tight underwear, or pants with tight elastic bands, as they may cause contour irregularities or affect the surgical results.
Prescribed Medications
  1. Please take all medications prescribed by the clinic as instructed after surgery.
Skipping doses may increase the risk of inflammation.
  2. After discharge, please take the prescribed medications regularly at the designated times. If symptoms such as diarrhea or hives occur after taking the medication, discontinue use and contact the clinic immediately.
  3. Pain relievers are included in the prescription.
However, if you continue to experience significant pain, you may take additional Tylenol (acetaminophen).
  4. For 1 month after surgery, please avoid multivitamins (especially Vitamin E) and nutritional supplements, as they may increase the risk of bleeding.
  5. Unless absolutely necessary, aspirin should be avoided for at least one week after surgery.
  6. Swelling-reduction medications are not recommended, as they may also increase the risk of bleeding.
Exercise
  1. For 1 month after surgery, please avoid lifting heavy objects or bending down in a way that applies pressure to the face.
  2. Starting after 1 month, both light exercise and strenuous activities (such as workouts, hiking, or swimming) are allowed as long as they do not strain the body.
General Post-Operative Precautions
  1. Alcohol & Smoking
Alcohol consumption and smoking are strictly prohibited for one month after surgery.
Please also avoid excessive exercise and stress during the recovery period.
Alcohol may increase the risk of inflammation, and smoking constricts blood vessels, which can delay wound healing and slow recovery.
  2. Emergency Situations
If you experience any of the following symptoms, please contact the clinic or your assigned coordinator immediately and visit the hospital as soon as possible.
Contact the Clinic Immediately If: · You experience severe eye pain or changes in vision
    · Heavy bleeding continues
    · You develop a high fever over 38°C or severe dizziness
    · The surgical area becomes extremely swollen or shows changes in skin color
